A route groups is a subset of all routes within a transit system.
Before launching this feature, route groups were created manually by Swiftly employees for our agencies. It was a toilsome process that required lots of hands-on time.
We aimed to build something to SaaSify the user experience, make it easy for our users to create their own groups, and cut down on tech supported needed to set up route groups.
The feature was readily adopted, we saw a 72% reduction in route group support tickets in the 3 months after launching the feature.
Route Groups with no selections made — just a name. A user must select one or more routes to 'activate' the Create Route Group button.
A Route Group is built out as a user selects the routes to be included. A typical route group is comprised of about 4-9 routes.
A confirmation screen allows users to verify they've selected the correct routes before creating a new group.
